LYNDSAY Glohe puts making the Australian Schools under 19 girls' team down to playing with the NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) this year.
Glohe was picked in the Australian team to tour the United Kingdom in January along with Canowindra's Krystle Cassidy and Dubbo's Vanessa Hart.
The trio were picked in the Australian team after impressing for NSW at the national school championships in Cairns in August.
Glohe has spent this year training with the NSWIS in Sydney, something that has added to the midfielder's game.
"I've improved heaps since I've been with the NSWIS," Glohe said yesterday.
"We play against the older boys on Wednesday nights, which really helps your game."
The 17-year-old will play for the NSW Sapphires White at the women's national football championships in Canberra, starting this Sunday.
It will provide the left winger with the opportunity to play against the top women's players in the country.
Then Glohe will start preparing for the UK tour, where the Australian team will play against English, Irish and Scottish teams.
Glohe is at the NSWIS again next year and hopes to stay with the Sydney program after she finishes year 12.
The Glohe family is raising money for Lyndsay's UK trip, with a raffle being held at Carrington Hotel each Thursday.
