Son of a farmer and sawmiller, Greg was born in Crookwell in 1938 with art in his blood.
His grandfather was an artist who lived and worked in Paris and after migrating to Australia Greg quickly grew up with a love of the Australian bush.
He attended Yanco Agricultural College and in 1950 his family moved to Orange where he developed a passion for painting.
In 1960 he married his wife Jan in the Holy Trinity Church and after travelling to England they returned and set up their own art business.
He worked on numerous public and private commissions, including a series for the Department of NSW Agriculture on Camden Park, where John Macarthur raised the first merino sheep in Australia.
Several of these magnificent paintings will be on display during the exhibition, which will take place on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12.
The exhibition will be held in Neil Watts' home at 27 National Avenue with the official opening taking place on the Saturday night at 7.30pm.
Neil was approached by Jan Turner to host the exhibition, which will consist of 36 original art works.
"It was suggested that the exhibition be held at my house as I was almost finished renovating the house so there would be enough room,” Neil said.
"A preview will be open to the public from 11am to 5pm on Saturday, October 11,” he said.
