NSW Health Minister, Brad Hazzard has verbally slammed Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk for refusing to lift the current border requirements with entry to the state, accusing her of "passive aggressive stupidity".
The rule will remain until January 1 (at the earliest) that interstate visitors from declared hotspots - such as NSW, the ACT, Adelaide and Victoria - will require negative results from a COVID-19 PCR test be returned within 72- hours prior to their entry into QLD.
Though, with the above states under extreme backlog with testing, many visitors are being left stranded at the border, or having to turn around and cancel their commute completely.
"This is passive aggressive stupidity from the Queensland Premier at her worst," Mr Hazzard said.
"Getting rid of PCRs for tourism testing is absolutely critical so there can be a focus on the clinical needs of patients at risk.
"South Australia has seen the light and someone needs to switch on the lights in the Queensland Premier's office."
