She and Carter Godson have been selected as the Orange Eagles' club captains for the 2022 season.
"It's like a mentor for the younger people who are coming up through the club," Harvey said on what some of her roles as club captain will be.
"Just helping them if the have any questions, especially if they wanted to go further than just rep basketball and cheering them on while they're playing."
She has been with the club for seven years now and was excited to find out she had been given the honour.
"We're a big family here at basketball, especially the people who have been playing for a while and are here most nights. It's good to see us all again getting back on the courts," she said.
"I'm looking forward to just seeing the younger ones grow. Especially the under 12s girls because a lot of them have only just started playing, so seeing them start to develop some more basketball skills and get a bit more confident would be great."
Her appointment came just a few days prior to the club's AGM which took place on December 8.
Eagles president and father of the new club captain, Craig Harvey, was excited about what next year had to offer.
"The first year we had to do a lot of policy and procedures and change things," he said.
"We started off with our women's regional league last season and have started to implement some foundations in the club.
"We've got some stuff going on for our domestic kids as well, we want to give them some free training on Sundays with some rep coaches and we've also got our 3x3 on Friday nights."
Friday night games tip off just before 5pm.
