An 18-year-old man is dead following a crash with a prime mover, despite the best efforts of passing motorists who pulled over to administer first aid to the teenager.

Emergency services responded to the intersection of Lachlan Valley Way and Paytens Bridge Road, at Paytens Bridge, south-east of Forbes, just after 6.15am on Wednesday after reports a Holden Colorado and a Kenworth prime mover had collided.
NSW Police say members of the public stopped to assist both drivers, rendering first aid. Despite their efforts, the driver of the Holden, an 18-year-old man, died at the scene.
The truck driver, a 59-year-old man, was taken to Forbes Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He also underwent mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Central West Police District established a crime scene, which has been forensically examined.
Lachlan Valley Way was closed between Gooloogong and Forbes and has since been reopened.
An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
