Sunday saw one of two Group 10 under 15s sides - the sky blue outfit - get valuable practice time at Eglinton's Cubis Park, ahead of the upcoming western cluster competition.
Places in the Western Rams representative side will be going on the line at the carnival, so it's set to be a big test to see who has managed to shake off the rust following a winter season cut short by COVID-19.
The sky blue Group 10 squad went through a two hour on Sunday morning, led by coach Steve Morgan.
Assistant coach Shane Powyer said it's great for everyone to have rugby league to look forward to once again.
"It's awesome. It's great to see the guys being able to play some footy again and I'm sure they're all very happy about that," he said.
It's a great group we've got coming through.

"They'll be getting themselves another month of football, which is great for them."
They'll each go through a month's worth of training to prepare themselves for the carnival, where the potential of further representative honours will go on the line.
"They have three more weeks of training before they go into the cluster carnival, and that's where the Western Rams guys will be watching," Powyer said.
"They'll have the chance to go against teams from Group 11 and other areas so that will be good for their football, and they'll pick a side from that."
Powyer said the talent pool looks as strong as ever among the under 15s age group.
"It's a great group we've got coming through," he said.
"We've also had the Penrith Panthers coming out here to our area to do a lot of work with the kids, and they've been closely watching a few of these kids.
"Plus, they've got a great coach here in Steve so they're very lucky."
The cluster carnival going ahead was a welcome surprise for everyone after the winter season's disruptions.
Powyer said right up until recently there was a chance the start of the representative season would also be affected.
"It's something that only came about over the last week because we didn't expect for it to happen at all because of COVID," he said.
"Then all of a sudden we got the message that it was going ahead. They'll have the cluster carnival and then Rams will go on from there."
The cluster carnival is set to take place on December 5.
