"A few months ago, everyone was feeling a bit down and not able to go anywhere, so it was really a case of 'how do we get everyone together for a good fun night?' - and me being a big country music fan, we came up with this," says Book Orange's Tim Mortimer.
Scheduled for Friday December 17 and Saturday December 18 at the Orange Showgrounds, A Night in Nashville is being billed as "a night of country entertainment like no other," and is expected to attract up to 800 people across the two nights.
Organisers say they are "going all out on theme" with a big American barn, festoon lights, hay bales, neon signs, cowboy hats and boots, and American food vans.
There'll also be prizes for best dressed and line dancing, and a mechanical bull competition.
Robbie Mortimer and the Strayhorns will headline the all-local line up, covering tracks from some of the all-time country greats from the 70s to now, including from Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, John Denver, and Johnny Cash.
"We really wanted to respect country music through the ages and make sure there's something there for everyone," Mr Mortimer said.
Other artists on the bill are Luke Furbank, Clancy Pye, Neil Gill Band and Justin Landers.
Mr Mortimer said the event, which is supported by Orange Council, would be split across the Agricultural and Williams Pavilions at the Showground. The latter is being hosted by Triple M and will include the mechanical bull, bar and dining area.
Ticket holders can access a free shuttle bus service that will be looping between the Showground and the Orange Visitors Centre.
Tickets are $85 and available through the Book Orange Facebook page.
