The owner had left the car there after breaking down a week ago.
A passing motorist spotted the fire on Wednesday and alerted emergency services.
Central West Police District Inspector David Maher said police and fire and rescue crews attended and found the vehicle alight on Cargo Road at about 11.10pm on Wednesday.
The car was located near the Ingham Bridge, about one kilometre before the Lake Canobolas turnoff.

Inspector Maher said the owner of the Landcruiser had left the vehicle sitting on the side of the road "for a while."
"The vehicle was left at the address by the owner due to it being broken down a week prior," he said.
The 2001 Toyota Landcruiser was completely destroyed by the fire.
Police are now appealing to the public for information.
"We are conducting inquiries, if you have any information please contact police," Inspector Maher said.
