The man was stopped in Byng Street at 5pm on Monday, October 4, where he returned a mid-range blood alcohol reading.
He will appear in Orange Local Court on November 15.
Police say the man was one of two drivers charged with drink driving over a relatively quiet October long weekend in Orange.
Chief Inspector Peter Atkins said there were less cars on the road than in previous years because of stay-at-home orders and motorists were generally well behaved.
There were four mobile phone infringements issued, however, which Chief Inspector Atkins said were "of concern".
Illegal mobile phone use carries a $352 fine that increases to $469 in a school zone, and a five-demerit-point penalty that increases to 10 demerit points during double-demerit periods.
