Law's first season in the NBL was cut short when he suffered a serious ankle injury in April while playing for Brisbane.

The 25-year-old American underwent surgery to repair a torn tendon and says his ankle is still not yet back to 100 per cent.

Despite that, Law was able to play in the recent NBA Summer League and arrived in Perth on Monday after two weeks of quarantine in Brisbane.

Law described himself as a versatile wing who can play both inside and out, but Wildcats coach Scott Morrison has a clearer view on how he wants to use the 201-cm star.

"He said he can see me playing Perth's version of Draymond Green, which is super exciting for me," Law said in reference to the Golden State Warriors power forward.

"I played anywhere between the four and point guard in college. At Brisbane, I played a bit of wing, played the four, played the five (centre) even.

"But I don't really care what position I play.

"There's only two positions out there - on the court or on the bench. If you put me out on the court I'll figure it out."

Law spent some time with Orlando Magic after failing to land a club at the 2019 NBA draft.

He didn't notch an NBA game with Orlando and later signed for the Brisbane Bullets.

The Chicago-born big man said knee tendonitis affected his time at the Magic and he still harbours hopes of getting another crack in the NBA.

"The NBA is very attainable for me," Law said.

"A big reason I may not be there is my health. So I'm going to keep striving, keep learning, keep trying to soak everything up I can.

"And what better place to be than the Perth Wildcats, who are the gold standard of Australian basketball.

"I still feel like I'm getting closer to 100 per cent (with my ankle). I'm still not there yet, but I'm pretty damn close and I feel like the sky is the limit once I get there."
