Council agreed on Tuesday night to fund the spending promotion which will focus on gift cards being available to encourage residents to spend locally.
Council said it was planning to launch the campaign as part of celebrations of FutureCity CBD upgrade work being completed in McNamara Street, due to take place on October 29.
Council also agreed to provide child care relief in the form of waiving gap fees for parents who use its child care services.
That will provide fee relief for parents who keep their children at home during the COVID lockdown instead of sending them to the facilities.
Major development applications were also approved on Tuesday night.
They included a 207-lot residential development for north Orange and a 13-lot industrial development of the former saleyards site on Edward Street.
Council also agreed to continue to seek more information on COVID vaccination rates in Orange as part of its push to see more residents vaccinated.
