Under the gaze of bird watchers around the world thanks to a webcam in the nest on top of the CSU tower the eggs are expected to hatch in the next couple of months.
However the project's website says while three is the maximum number of eggs in its history the average number of chicks is only 1.5.
The egg-laying has occurred in the usual late August-early September period.
Project co-ordinator Dr Cilla Kinross said the public would again have the opportunity to select names for the chicks, probably through an online poll.
"This year I am going to be [using] Wiradjuri names," she said.
Last year one chick, named Izzi, was born in the nest.
