The Las Vegas Aces announced that Cambage has been placed in the WNBA's heath and safety protocols in the wake of her positive test.
"She is fully vaccinated, experiencing mild symptoms, and will continue to isolate until she is cleared to return to play pursuant to the Protocols," the club said in a statement.
Cambage has averaged 14.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per game across 24 matches for the Aces this season.
They currently sit in second place in the overall league standings with a 19-7 record.
Cambage has endured a topsy-turvy period both on and off the court over the past two months.
The 30-year-old pulled out of the Tokyo Olympics in July citing mental health concerns, which included panic attacks.
Cambage's withdrawal came shortly after reports began to emerge of her being involved in an ugly physical and verbal altercation with members of the Nigeria team during an Olympics warm-up match.
Basketball Australia have launched an investigation into that matter.
Other rumours emerged about Cambage breaking the Australian team bubble on numerous occasions.
Cambage vehemently denied those rumours, and said her withdrawal was purely about her need to focus on her mental health.
"It's no secret that in the past I've struggled with my mental health and recently I've been really worried about heading into a 'bubble' Olympics," Cambage said at the time.
"No family. No friends. No fans. No support system outside of my team. It's honestly terrifying for me.
"The past month I have been having panic attacks, not sleeping and not eating.
"I know myself, and I know I can't be the Liz everyone deserves to see compete for the Opals. Not right now at least.
"I need to take care of myself mentally and physically."
Australia struggled badly without Cambage at the Olympics, with the world No.3 nation winning just one game during the pool stage before being thumped 79-55 by the US in the quarter-finals.
