Organisers Tammy Litt, Cassandra Roberts, Monique Symons and Carly Roberts said the day will "open up the whole town" and are inviting visitors from all over.
As well as markets, the day will involve live music, jumping castles, a mechanical bull and coach rides, as well as all the local businesses being open for the day.
Thanks to sponsors, organisers are hoping to make as many rides and attractions free.
The Family Fun Day will also be as much about opening Cumnock up to visitors as a day of celebration of a community which has been through so much, organisers said. In addition to the pandemic, Cumnock has also endured severe drought, floods and a mouse plague.
Those wishing to sponsor the event or hold a stall at the market can do so by emailing Cumnockfunday@gmail.com or by messaging the Cumnock Markets Family Fun Day Facebook page.
The Fun Day is on October 16 from 9am-3pm. Camping facilities are available for those wishing to stay overnight.
