And for Theodore Crane, that random occurrence came at the John Lomas Skate Park.
He had taken his two young boys down there on Sunday for a bit of morning fun and was pleasantly surprised by thoughtfulness of kids already there.
"I noticed about five other young fellas down there who were a little bit older, some of them in that 11-13 bracket and some around 15," he said.
"If you work with teenagers a lot, you would be aware that when they're on their best behaviour you can see that they're very intentionally courteous. But these guys were not, they were just being themselves and happened to be really attentive and considerate looking after the littlies that I brought."
He wanted to give a shout out to the boys and their family for being "fine young people."
"My six year old is quite outgoing and was trying to skate around and talk and engage with them which was pretty cute," Mr Crane added.
"My older child at one point was trying to go down one of the ramps and he let go of his scooter and one of the fellas caught it on the way down. I thought that was very kind, but then he went out of his way to ride it over to him and hand it to him."
"I work with teens for a living and I really enjoy that. One of my favourite quotes from Shakespeare is from Julius Caesar where Antony says in the eulogy that a good a man does is oft interred with their bones while the evil lives on.
"If any way in life you can challenge that and try to help the good that people do live on a little bit, you should."
