Sim Madigan from LiveBetter Orange explained that normally it would host a morning tea - which COVID restrictions made a bit more difficult this year.
So the organisation decided to bring morning tea to its aged care workers by having biscuits baked.
"This way people could have their own morning tea!" she said.
"We approached LiveBetter Café Connect chef Jamie Stewart to make the biscuits and he incorporated this into one of our Disability Services cooking programs which helps our participants build their life skills."
The café team subsequently made over 600 biscuits for LiveBetter staff across NSW and Queenland.
LiveBetter CEO Natalie Forsyth-Stock said that its aged care workers currently assist over 3,000 older people in various ways to enable them to keep living in their own homes for as long as possible.
"This pandemic has been an extraordinarily challenging time for all Australians. But it is thanks to the diligence, professionalism, passion and commitment of aged care workers who show up and provide care, every day of the year, that our elderly have remained safe," she said.
