The ladies came away with the four points on Saturday when they downed the Bathurst Bushrangers 5.8 (38) to 3.3 (21).
Emma Clark kicked two for the yellow and black and leads the side in six pointers on the season.
She knows just how crucial it will be to finish the year strong.
"It would be really important, so hopefully we can maybe win the next few games and jump up into second then that gives us a good chance," she said.
"I think we're just gelling as a team better and we're putting our training drills into practice on game day."
Despite fielding the worst point differential in the comp, the Tigers sit two wins above the Bushrangers with three rounds to play and the top three making the finals.
Player-coach Jacqui Ryan said it was a gritty showing by the side.
"Our girls started out very strong with a dominant first quarter, partly due to very windy conditions assisting to carry the ball towards our goals but also due to some great on-field communication and decision making," she said.
"We had to continue fighting for the remainder of the game to prevent a comeback as kicking against the wind in the final quarter proved challenging and Bushrangers weren't giving up."
The Tigers will now take on the undefeated Bathurst Giants this Saturday at Waratah Sports Club.
On the men's side, tier 1 lost to the Bushrangers 3.2 (20) to 16.11 (107) and sit two wins out of the finals. Tier 2 fell to the Parkes Panthers 1.4 (10) to 12.13 (85) and sit in last place and out of finals contention.
