Orange City Council's meeting on Tuesday night was told a celebration, possibly featuring live music and food and drink stalls, would be considered and kept in line with any COVID-19 restrictions.
Lighting poles are currently being installed as the works near completion.
Council was also told other current FutureCity project works in the Orange CBD were scheduled to be completed in September.
Council will also seek to clearly show areas where dogs are allowed at Gosling Creek Reserve after concerns were raised some animals were off-leash in areas reserved for native bird breeding.
New signs and a request to Google Maps to correct an area wrongly stated to be an off-leash area at the reserve will be considered.
Council will also look at ways to encourage Orange residents to get out and spend in the local area to boost local businesses at a time when Greater Sydney visitors are banned due to COVID-19 lockdown rules.
And the Boer War Memorial is set to stay in its current position after concerns about damage that might be done by attempting to move it to the southern end of Robertson Park.
