The Mini Series Art Prize is open to emerging and professional artists who have not had a solo exhibition with the gallery before.
Artists submit three pieces of art each and finalists will be exhibited at the gallery in September as a group exhibition.
The overall winner will be decided by a panel of judges and announced on opening night. They will receive a rent-free solo exhibition at the Corner Store Gallery for two weeks in 2022.
There will also be two runners-up in the Mini Series Art Prize.
In 2019, the last time the competition was held, artists entered work from as far away as Western Australia.
Ms Young said that judges will be looking for "something different" in this year's winner.
"We want you to summarise your art practice in three artworks - they can be any medium. Mediums can also vary within the series, however, we encourage you to put forward a cohesive series. For example: your series might include one painting, one mixed media work and one ceramic piece all exploring the same theme."
Artworks can be any size up to 80cm in any direction. Submissions must be uploaded online through the Corner Store Gallery's website before midnight, August 8.
Journey Person cancelled
The Gallery has also made the decision to cancel its tri-annual handmade pop-up, Journey Person. The event was due to take place next month.
