Coaching such a red-hot under 18s side sounds like a plum gig, but there's one pretty big challenge.
"We can't get carried away," Jones said following Sunday's win at Wade Park over the men in black.
"At times, I'd say we're guilty of trying to be a bit too fancy and we can get a bit impatient. We're trying to score off every play. I guess that comes with being younger boys, but if we can be more patient when we have the footy then we'll be a better side.
"We want to be a confident team, without being a cocky one. And to be that we just can't afford to get carried away."
The green and golds' under 18s is undefeated and on top of the ladder.
They're scoring an average of 32 points per game at this point in the season, and Sunday's 38-point thrashing of Panthers was CYMS' seventh-straight victory of 2021.
Throw into the mix the likes of Kaden Williams (premier league), Jack Cole (injury) and Latera O'Keeffe (injury) are all a chance of featuring for CYMS at the business end of the season and, really, it's hard not to get carried away.
But Jones says there's still patches of the 60 minutes where CYMS have to get better.
We're proving we can win without them, and that's pretty handy for us.

"The first half on Sunday we were pretty ordinary. I think Panthers had a few out, so (the scoreline's) probably not a great representation of where we're at," he said.
"It is a great side, though, and it's important to enjoy that and enjoy being part of that; we've got some special players.
"Kado's only played a few games for us, it's been great to see him play first grade. And Jack Cole has been out for a few weeks now.
"We're proving we can win without them, and that's pretty handy for us."
Jones said the likes of Flynn Packham has done a great job for the green and golds while a few of the club's juniors have made the leap to senior footy with relative ease.
"A couple of the 16s boys have jumped up and done a really well for us," Jones added.
