Rose Lajtar first saw 'Birth Time: the documentary' a couple months ago and felt inspired.
"I'd never really cared about childbirth before," Ms Lajtar said.
"I'm not a midwife, I don't work in hospitals but I had a daughter 10 months ago now and obviously you're interested in childbirth after you've had a baby."
The film focuses on three women embarking on a mission to find out why an increasing number of women are emerging from their births, physically and emotionally traumatised.
"The idea of the documentary is that every woman should have one midwife or one care provider throughout all of their pre-natal, their child birth and their post-partem stuff rather than having different doctors and midwives," Ms Lajtar said.
"It also speaks about the over medicalisation of childbirth and as long as there's no serious medical concerns, there should be less medical intervention and allowing mothers to make the space right for themselves."
The Bathurst woman previously attempted to host a screening in her home town, but was unsuccessful, which led her bringing the film to Orange.
She isn't saying people shouldn't still listen to doctors and nurses. She just hopes the film helps women and their partners take more of a lead when it comes to giving birth.
"The impact that it had on me, I wanted to share that feeling of empowerment with other women as well and I really want women and their partners to know their rights within their birthing experience," she said.
"I want people to know it's their choice. As soon as I saw the first screening I spoke to a group of mums and the amount of trauma that had happened during their birthing experience was massive."
So far they have sold 67 tickets for the screening on June 20. You can book by searching on tickets.demand.film.
