The men, armed with a baseball bat and a replica firearm, smashed through the front door of the Echidna Place property at around 10.30pm on May 22.
A 68-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man were at home when the two men forced entry into the house.
Police say one of the men fired the replica firearm multiple times when the male occupant of the home confronted them.
The two men ran from the scene, smashing several windows on the way. Neither occupant of the home was injured.
Officers attached to the Central West Police District attended the scene, and are appealing for public assistance.
Both men have been described as being approximately 175cm tall and were last seen wearing black long-sleeve shirts and pants, face coverings, and black gloves.
