Coming off the back of their first win of the young season, the boys from Barnstoneworth knew that a good showing against Mudgee was of the highest importance.
Not only did they taste victory, they did it in emphatic fashion as well.
Tyler Mendham got things going in just the fifth minute of the game, before Josh Ward added a second before the break.
But it was the second 45 where things got really ugly as Barnies ran in five more goals - including four in ten minutes. Scorers included Ben Giumelli, Dylan Hallz, Lachie McHatton, Lachie Peet and Mendham's second of the contest.
The win has propelled them into the top four.
Back at home, Orange Waratahs took on a travelling Parkes side.
It was Guy Burgess who played a large role in keeping 'Tahs undefeated as he bagged a double, while Jayden Slater also slotted one home. Parkes' only contribution to the scoresheet in the 3-1 defeat came from an own goal by Sky Blue defender Niall Gibb.
Orana Spurt were looking to bounce back against Lithgow Workies and did just that behind a Joel Tongue double. Jake Ferguson also added one for the visitors while Ben Sheehan bag the lone goal for Workies.
The final game of the round was a goal-fest between Macquarie United and Panorama as they played out a 3-3 draw. Brad Matiuscenko, Connor Crain and Glen Schein all slotted home for the Dubbo side, while Jacob Soetens (2) and Jaiden Culbert scored for the Goats.
