Orange mayor Cr Reg Kidd hit out at those responsible saying they had no respect for public property.
"They've knocked off three seats. They'd be worth a couple of thousand for the three," he said.

"They were chained and padlocked to the poles.
"They've used angle grinders or bolt cutters to cut them off."
Cr Kidd said the seats had been stored on-site for a few days awaiting installation.
He said police had been notified and urged anyone who saw the seats to call council or the police.
"I really think there are low-lifes around who have no respect for other people's property," he said.
"They're absolute low-lifes,"
Cr Kidd said the seats were a 'greyish colour' and made from re-constituted plastics.
"They'll stand out," he said.
He said funding from a heritage grant and the council had provided the seating as part of an upgrade which includes a picnic shelter, tables and seats.
Further funding is required for other plans for the site including a toilet block and a series of interpretative pathways to explain the heritage of the area, Banjo Paterson's birthplace.
"We've been trying to get funding for a while," he said.
Cr Kidd said the site was first recognised as an historic area in the 1940s and had gradually been improved, and neglected, over the years. He said it was an ideal picnic spot and heritage area.
