Ms Sullivan is one of the nation's most accomplished trumpeters, having played in Australia's leading orchestras and is currently teaching at the Sydney Conservatorium of music.
The residency will offer a rare opportunity for regional brass musicians to learn from one of the trumpet greats.
"ORC's Artist in Residence program has been developed in recent years through the support of national music organisation Musica Viva Australia and the Godfrey Turner Memorial Music trust, a valued and significant contributor to many ORC programs", an ORC spokesperson said.
"The support of these groups means we can offer these opportunities completely free of change to students."
The Residency Program began in 2019 with concert pianist, Aura Go, who over several weeks in Orange developed close connections with the local music community. 2020 saw the program shift to a virtual format, with Aura and fellow pianist Tomoe Kawabata presenting a series of video lessons.
Ms Sullivan will work alongside ORC's existing programs during her visit, visiting local schools, giving lessons and working with community groups.
All activities during Ms Sullivan's time at the ORC are free of charge and open to all trumpeters and brass musicians. Registration details are available at ORC's website.
