Christine Williams returned home this week evening to find her eight-year-old cavoodle Mickey had been allegedly mauled inside her NSW Riverina home.
"The back gate was opened and there was a trail of blood through the kitchen, up the hallway, all over the walls, and into the bedroom," Ms Williams said.
"The mauling, the evidence of the aggression is distressing."

She had been working in Wagga Wagga on Thursday before she returned at around 6pm to uncover the distressing scene.
Her pet dog was found brutalised and clinging to life in the bedroom. He was taken to a vet, but he could not be saved.
"He wasn't quite dead, but there was no hope for him," she said.
"It's so sad. He was a part of our lives for so long. He was such an affectionate little guy, it's a disgusting way for him to go."
The scene inside her home was so shocking, Ms Williams said it will take professional cleaners to remove the blood from carpet.
Ms Williams assumes her dog must have been chased from the backyard into the house and cornered by another, larger dog.
"There are paw prints in the blood that aren't Mickey's, they're too large to be his," Ms Williams said.
Ms Williams has contacted the police about the incident and is urging anyone with information to do likewise.
"What concerns me is the dog that did this is still out there," she said.
"A dog that mauled our little dog, a savage dog, is still out there. We can't bring Mickey back but we can let people know to be aware."
