Country Brewer Orange are the sponsor's for this year's beer tasting competition at the Orange Show. It will be the first year Mr Mogford will be taking the reigns for the competition and is excited to see what it's all about.
"I'm looking forward to talking to the people on the Saturday who made the brew and see how they feel the judging has gone," he said.
"I'm also looking forward to being the steward on Friday night because we're going to do the judging here at the back of the shop.
"I'll be the first person to say I like a beer for the sake of a beer and that's why we have five great judges."
There will two overall categories - extract brews and all grain - with nine different beers in each of those.
Those beers include lager, pilsner, American pale ale, IPA, bitter, old/dark ale, stout, wheat beers and anything that doesn't fit in that will go into the specialty category.
"With the judges that I have, they are quite good at what they do," Mr Mogford said.
"People get good feedback of where their beers are at compared to other people and things they may not know themselves to make their brew better.
"At the end of it, they will get a scoresheet for their beer which will tell you what the judges thought of it and any improvements you can make."
There is a $30 gift voucher at the shop for the winner of each beer. The reserve champion gets a $100 and the grand champion gets $200 voucher. The winners will be announced on the Saturday.
