LIONS: 1 Sia Nemani, 2 Josh Tremain, 3 Kyle Lawson, 4 Kieran Bonin, 5 Tom Fenton, 6 Colin McGregor, 7 Harry Taberner, 8 Logan Buckley, 9 Dave McQueeny, 10 Traye Hodge, 11 Billy Thompson, 12 Logan Brockmann, 13 Fletcher Rose, 14 Jack Connors, 15 Duncan Young.
COACH: Viv Paasi
TIPS:
- RILEY KRAUSE: LIONS by 7
There were no better performers last week than Orange City in the second half. They proved that with a bit of discipline, they can go a long way towards regaining their finals form from 2020. An away trip to Cowra will be no easy task but I say the visitors make it two from two.
- JAKE HUMPHREYS: EAGLES BY 13
All three home teams prevailed in the first round of the competition, and after losing handily to Forbes, I'm tipping Cowra to come out absolutely firing on Saturday. Take nothing away from City after their gutsy come-from-behind win over Kangaroos, but the hosts get the chocolates.
DUBBO KANGAROOS versus BATHURST BULLDOGS at No.1 Oval
Kick-off: 3.15pm
KANGAROOS: 1 Sam Hunt, 2 Will Anderson, 3 Edward Williams, 4 Will Michell, 5 Ronan Scott, 6 Connor Burke, 7 Will Archer, 8 Sam Knaggs, 9 Pat Wheatley, 10 Tom Leary, 11 Tim Beach (C), 12 Sam Gemmell, 13 Johnny Mafiti, 14 Logan Porch, 15 Jake Styles (C).
COACH: Paul Hausia
BULLDOGS: 1 Joel Harper, 2 Matt Trapp, 3 Bailey Warren, 4 Dale Norris, 5 Justin Mobbs (vc), 6 Tom Felsch, 7 Sam Maher, 8 Peter Fitzsimmons (c), 9 Will Oldham, 10 Scott Johnson, 11 Buzz Webber, 12 Hunter Davis, 13 Sione Naufahu, 14 Adam Plummer, 15 Josh Weekes.
COACH: Mick Leseberg
TIPS:
- RILEY KRAUSE: BULLDOGS by 27
Taking down the overwhelming favourites in week one should have the Bulldogs on cloud nine. They've shown they are one of, if not the team to beat now and should take down the Kangaroos with ease.
- JAKE HUMPHREYS: BULLDOGS BY 17
If you beat the defending premiers by nine points, you should be able to take out Kangaroos. I know sports don't always work that way, but Bulldogs would have to be favourites, here.
ORANGE EMUS versus FORBES PLATYPI at Endeavour Oval
Kick-off: 3.15pm
EMUS: 1 Digby Cooper, 2 Charlie Henley (c), 3 Ant Carver, 4 Sam McLean, 5 Angus Sharpe, 6 Simon Badger, 7 Jack Marchinton, 8 Sam Greabatch, 9 Shahid Khalfan, 10 Angus Roberts, 11 Harry Cummins, 12 Lachie Harris, 13 Nigel Staniforth (c), 14 Tom Joseph, 15 Jamil Khalfan.
COACH: Pete Bromley
PLATYPI: 1 Nick Guise , 2 Will Nash, 3 Rusi Lawanikula, 4 Timoci Waqaisavou, 5 Brenton Howarth, 6 Tom Menzies, 7 Tim Prior, 8 Andrew Hubbard, 9 Minti Tonga, 10 Mahe Fangupo, 11 James Moss, 12 Andrew Saar, 13 Matt Coles, 14 Tom Maguire, 15 Dylan Phillips.
COACH: Heamani Lavaka
TIPS:
- RILEY KRAUSE: EMUS by 10
The Platypi proved last week that finals footy is well within their grasp. But the Emus losing two games in a row to start the year just doesn't seem possible. Combined with it being their home opener and I see Emus edging out a close one.
- JAKE HUMPHREYS: EMUS BY 20
Forget about last week... Emus will get the job done, here. They have a few blokes missing but by full time, the cream will rise to the top.
TIPS TALLY:
KRAUSE: 2/3
HUMPHREYS: 1/3
