Orange City councillors this week supported the World Jousting Championships and the Squeeze Music Festival.
As both require funding from the council they will put on public exhibition to seek comment.
They have a wall between the jousters which protects the horses

Council would donate $10,000 cash plus $10,000 of in-kind services to put on the jousting event plus $10,000 cash to support the music festival.
Cr Scott Munro offered to bring a draughthorse and a jousting stick while Cr Kevin Duffy offered six thoroughbreds and some spears for the jousting should a bid by council for the event be successful.
Cr Tony Mileto said a jousting event offered something different for Orange.
"I think it has the opportunity to have a number of economic benefits for the city, not only for people who want travel from metropolitan areas but for locals who would never get to see something like this," he said.
He also suggested a preliminary bout between the mayors of Orange and Bathurst, on donkeys.
Cr Stephen Nugent said his worries about the welfare of the houses in the tournament had been allayed.
"I did have some concerns about animal welfare in terms of the horses but I have had a look at videos online and they have a wall between the jousters which protects the horses," he said.
"I don't care about the jousters, they get to choose [to participate]."
Cr Jason Hamling said jousting was also part of Lithgow's Ironfest event and would benefit Orange.
"Jousting is very popular. It absolutely packs out that day down there," he said.

He also backed the music festival, to be headlined by indie band Lime Cordiale.
"I know Lime Cordiale are a very famous band, very popular with the younger generation," he said.
"Another music festival, bring it on."
