Bernie Diduszko, Geoff Thorne and Bobby Lindsay successfully defended their Bathurst City Bowling Club ANZAC Triples title over the weekend with a dominant weekend of bowls.
The trio had to wait two years for the chance to take out the title again, due to the 2020 tournament's COVID-related cancellation, but they looked strong as ever as they took out three games with a combined margin of 36 points.
Team skip Diduszko, of the Orange City Bowling Club, said it's always a pleasure to play alongside his teammates.
"That's back-to-back for us. We've played together now for around three to four years. I started playing bowls at Bathurst and that's how I got to know Bob and Geoff, then they asked me to play for them," he said.
"It all went brilliantly. With Bob Lindsay at lead and Geoff Thorne you've got two quality bowlers alongside you and that makes things a lot easier."
Diduszko said he and his teammates managed to play their way into the tournament after a testing start to proceedings.
"In our first game we struggled a little bit but managed to get a win against the president Mick Sewell's team. We then had a win against Ronnie Stintson from Blayney and finished with a win over Arthur and Jo from Bathurst," he said.
"We had a couple of close games but they were good wins. We won the first game by 14 shots, the next by 11 and the last game by 11 again.
"It's a great feeling to go back-to-back because it's a quality tournament. It's just a shame that with COVID knocking about there's a lot of clubs struggling, but it's still a quality field and it's a hard tournament to win.
"Normally it's played over five games but it's been cut back due to numbers. There's still great sides there and you've got guys like Phil Gray and Johnny Archer there, who are zone players, and they travel from everywhere to play in it."
Diduszko, Thorne and Lindsay will no doubt be eyeing off a rare three-peat come 2021.
"We'll definitely be back, trying to keep the title. They're all gunning for you when you're the defending champion. That's just what happens," Diduszko said.
