Last year fans were absent from the event due to the coronavirus.
So for Racing Orange's executive officer Bree McMinn to see so many smiling faces once again was the highlight of the day.
"We'll keep moving forward each year to build on what we're doing," she said.
"That combined with the Calcutta on the Thursday night made for a very good event."
Although she hadn't yet looked at the official ticket sales, she estimated there were about 600-700 people through the gate.
Those included participants of the fashions on the field, with Mel Prescott coming out on top in the women's event.
"The ladies prize, the $800 necklace from APop Jewelss was certainly a very generous donation," Ms McMinn said.
"A big thank you to our sponsors and my staff and team here at Racing Orange, we couldn't do it without them."
