Orange's F.O.O.D (Food of Orange District) week will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year (COVID willing). Australia's longest running regional food festival is a 10-day community event celebrating Orange's food and wine - from farmers to chefs and restaurants. Among this year's signature events are Shining the Light on Local Producers, the Sampson Street Lunch, a 30th anniversary dinner, Taste Local on the Lawn and a Sunday producers market and brunch. Plant sale
Friends of the Botanic Gardens
Looking for that next special think to spruce up your garden? You might just find it at this plant and flower sale run by the friends of Orange Botanic Gardens. Most of the plants will cost between $2 and $4, although a few bigger specimens will have higher price tags. The sale will run on April 17 and 18 from 8.30am to 2pm in the propagation area of the Botanic Gardens. Bluey's Big Play
Last chance
Families will be treated to a great day out when the much anticipated Bluey's Big Play - The Stage Show comes to town. Featuring brilliantly created puppets, Bluey fans will get the chance to see the lovable character and the rest of her gang up close and personal. It will star the Heeler family, Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli, in their first live theatre show. April 15-16, Civic Theatre, Orange, 45 minutes, no interval. Newbridge art

Newbridge Art Group is holding a watercolour workshop with Annie Joseph as tutor on April 17-18 at the Newbridge Hall. This is for beginners as well as experienced painters. Textures of One
Put in the diary
The inaugural exhibition for the Platform Arts Hub - Textures of One - will opens at the Blayney Railway Station on April 9 and runs for four weeks, closing on April 30. The theme is "steam", paying homage to the recently restored complex. Details of registration and opening night tickets not yet available.

Autumn opening
The renowned garden will throw open its gates for visitors to catch the wonders of autumn. See if you can find your way out of the box hedge maze, stroll through the 75 ha of the Hawkins' Family Garden and the Mayfield Garden. Busking day

Last year the Beekeeper's Inn was preparing run a series of regular busking gigs, until COVID hit. Fast forward a year and from this Saturday the buskers will be there from 11.30am to 1pm each Saturday. The sessions will encompass an 'unplugged' theme, and are open to any creative looking to perform in front of an audience. Bathurst local Anisha Gill will open the first unplugged event. Food, wine and foraging are returning with the Field to Forest Festival that will showcase what makes the Oberon region so great. There will be specialised foraging trips for mushrooms, forest lunches, wine tasting, 4WD tag-along trips and Renzaglia's famous Harvest Long Lunch returns.
