Following an official launch last month, the ten "stars" have been announced - many of whom were meant to take to the stage last year before the pandemic forced the event's postponement.
Stars this year will include: Andrew Moxon (representing Waratahs/Department of Human Services), Billie-Rae White (representing The Smoko Shed), Erin Quarmby (representing United BJJ & Boxing), duo Jack Evans and Kaitlyn Cowden (Worklocker/HitFM105.9), the Orange Cardiac Cath Lab, duo Matt Boss and Glen Maxwell (Hawkes Rugby League), Orange Vet Hospital, Tom Corrigan (Prime7 News Central West), Wayne McDonnell (McDonnell Earthmoving) and father-daughter duo Luke and Julia Patrick (L-Con and Orange High School).
Each local Star is partnered with a local professional dance teacher to perform a dance routine, competing for the judges and audience's votes on the night.
The local studios who have volunteered their time and expertise include Revolution Aerial, United Dance, Central West Gym Sports, Dance Dynamic, Fattisha, Doves & Dimes and EmDance.
This year, the event is aiming to raise $100,000 to help support people in Orange affected by cancer.
Cancer Council's Community Lead for Western NSW, Ricky Puata said Stars on embark on three months of training with their professional dance studios and instructors before the gala night.
While training for the big event, Stars also fundraise for Cancer Council through their own fundraising page online.
Funds raised will go towards ensuring local cancer accommodation facility, Lionel & Joan Smith House, can continue to be a free home-away-from-home for cancer patients and their families.
The last time the gala was held in 2019, an incredible $250,000 was raised - while the night was a sell-out with 840 people in attendance.
In the six years that Stars of Orange has been running - not including 2020 when it was cancelled - it has managed to raise $600,000.
The gala is on June 26. Tickets can be purchased from the Cancer Council website.
