A spokesperson from Fire and Rescue NSW said there was extensive overhaul work done after extinguishing the blaze, to ensure there was no hidden extensions of the fire throughout the home while necessary smoke removal processes were undertaken too.
He said the occupants' presence of mind in not only calling triple zero but also immediately evacuating the premises was helpful, also highlighting the importance of the home's working smoke detector as crucial in avoiding more damage.
There was some damage sustained in the kitchen area of the home, however Fire and Rescue NSW was unable to reveal the cause of the fire.
