Council spokesman Allan Reeder said it occurred on Lone Pine Avenue between Blowes Road and Huntley Road.
"Even if a truck believes it's big enough to get through a causeway safely, this incident shows why complying with road signs is always important," he said.
"In this case a large trailer with a load of equipment toppled over at a spot where the water from Spring Creek dam was right alongside the road. A crane was needed to pick up the equipment.
"There were no injuries, but local police responded and talked to the driver."
Police said they were not investigating the incident.
Mr Reeder said the road also had a permanent sign banning vehicles longer than 12.5 metres from using the narrow rural road.
