Some general practices across Orange included in the next phase of the COVID-19 vaccine's roll-out will initially narrow their focus to existing patients, but they will be making jabs available to the wider public as quickly as possible.

Phase 1B of the federal government's vaccine roll-out begins on Monday and at least one Orange practice has taken bookings for that day, with others set to begin their vaccination programs later in the week or the following week.
While only five Orange practices were identified to administer jabs in the initial stage of Phase 1B, the government is reiterating that more GPs will be included as the roll-out is scaled up in line with vaccine supply.
Orange Aboriginal Medical Service and the Wellness House will initially focus on providing vaccinations for existing patients who are eligible to receive the jab in Phase 1B, before extending their available services in the coming weeks.
We'll endeavour to keep the community updated as this roll-out progresses.

The former is expected to begin vaccinations next Thursday, the latter's clinic is set to start the following Monday.
"Our initial focus is current OAMS patients who are over 55 years of age for the first two to three weeks as per the Phase 1B COVID-19 vaccine roll-out through Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services brief," OAMS operations manager Michael Newman explained.
"OAMS will be frequently keeping the community informed with any vaccination updates on our Facebook page and our clinical team are to field any questions or concerns from the community.
"We'll endeavour to keep the community updated as this roll-out progresses."
The Wellness House will gauge the efficacy of its operation while administering vaccines for existing patients and is placing other patients on a waiting list, it's expected they'll be contacted and able to make bookings from early April.
It's been confirmed Colour City Medical Centre has taken bookings for existing patients' vaccinations next Monday, however it has also allocated specific times and days for non-existing patients to make appointments as well.
The Orange Respiratory Clinic, at Bloomfield Medical Centre, will be running a public clinic open to anyone eligible in Phase 1B however bookings are not yet being taken, but are expected to be available through HotDoc next week.
Initially the Central Western Daily was unable to confirm Orange Family Medical Centre's approach, however on Friday practice manager Janine Wood confirmed it is taking bookings for both new and existing patients.
Bookings are open to all patients via the centre's website and for anyone without access to that technology, bookings are also being taken over the phone.
While they have all been inundated with phone calls and enquiries regarding vaccinations bookings can be made by calling individual practices, with Mr Newman also explaining OAMS are only taking bookings through reception staff and not online.
However before calling any practices people are urged to check what phase of the roll-out they are included in through the government's vaccine eligibility checker.
Bookings can be made through the government's website as well, however people are required to step through the checker before they are given an option to see participating GPs.
Phase 1B includes anyone over 70, healthcare and frontline workers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults over 55, adults with specific medical conditions, adults with a disability who have a specified underlying medical condition and high-risk workers.
The government intends all Australians to be offered an initial vaccine dose by the end of October.
