Throughout March, NSW residents can register through the Service NSW website or app for $25 vouchers to spend at participating businesses.
While Orange residents can not yet apply to receive the vouchers, local businesses like Byng Street Café have started to accept the vouchers from tourists.
"I think it's a great initiative," said owner Jeremy Norris.
"People have presented vouchers here... I think we've only had one or two.
"I just did a ring around some of the other businesses this morning but no-one else has received them," he added.
While Mr Norris believed the state government was trying "to do the right thing" with the voucher campaign, the time it took for staff to process customers' vouchers compared to them paying with cash or with a card needed some ironing-out.
So far, 30 Orange businesses have signed up for the initiative. To see the full list (or sign-up your own business), head to the Dine and Discover section of Service NSW.
Once the Dine and Discover program rolls out in Orange, residents aged 18 and over will be entitled to four $25 voucher, worth $100 in total.
