Heading into Saturday, the Warriors had only lost one wicket and trailed Cavaliers by 171 runs. What entailed on day two was simply disappointing for City, as they lost nine wickets and couldn't even crack the 100-run mark, handing Bathurst rivals St Pat's Old Boys the minor premiership.
Opening batsman Ben Schofield had been dismissed for one last week, and the wickets of Ben Johnson and Troy O'Keefe left the Warriors in the worrying situation of 3-9.
Skipper Blake Weymouth tried to spark an Orange City revival, but he was out for 10 and the rest of the day proved a struggle in the Bloomfield Oval sun, as the Warriors were dismissed by 95.
Nothing should be taken away from the victorious Cavs, with Kyle Buckley (5-38 off 11) and Mark Maybin (3-12 off 5.4) sharing the wickets around in a devastating effort with the ball to put their rivals on notice heading into the finals next weekend.
Buckley was quick to praise his partner in crime, Hugh Britton, who came away with 2-38 off 11.
"Hugh has been a real big push for us," Buckley said.
"He bowled really well, really tight and just the guys in the inner circle fielding well created that added pressure. It wasn't anything creative from my end, I just reaped the rewards this week and pretty happy."
The five-for was the opening bowler's best figures of the season, but reiterated how well Cavs played as a team.
"Most of the damage was done last week to be honest," he said.
"We struggled early in the top order and the guys in the middle and lower order really stepped up for us and on that pitch, 180 was a pretty competitive total so we knew if we bowled our lines and bowled together as a team we'd go really close.
"The guys are starting to hit their straps at the right time of the year. On our day we do believe we can compete with those top sides."
ST PAT'S OLD BOYS (9-195) defeated CENTRALS (194) by one wicket
The Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket has left its best game to the final round of the regular season, with St Pat's Old Boys' thrilling one-wicket win securing the 2020-21 minor premiership.
With Orange City losing its match against Cavaliers, the door was open for Saints to take top spot.
They looked the goods to snatch victory heading into day two, trailing by 180 runs with eight wickets to spare, however, after losing some late wickets, the Bathurst club was at 9-184 and the pressure fell to Tom Siede and Josh Wilcox for one final stand for the Saints.
And the winning run fell the way to Wilcox, whose score tipped Saints to the magical 195 score, enough to secure a one-wicket win and the minor premiership.
Saints gun Connor Slattery had the best go of it with the bat, eventually dismissed for 68.
Centrals had proven resilient across the two-day match, with Daryl Kennewell and Edward Dodds snatching three wickets each.
CENTENNIALS BULLS (184) defeated CYMS (127 and 9-142) by five wickets
Centennials Bulls have finished the season on a high, defeating CYMS by five wickets at the Sportsground on Saturday.
Heading into day two, Bulls trailed the green and golds by only 46 runs, after dismissing the Orange club for just 127 on day one.
Centennials had already lost four wickets on day one, but only lost one more on the way to chasing CYMS down. They pushed on before eventually being dismissed for 184 runs.
Tyler Horton topped score for Bulls with 44.
CYMS returned to the crease for a second innings and were almost dismissed for a second time, finishing at 9-142, with Bulls skipper Kurt Toole ripping through the green and golds' order, taking five wickets.
BATHURST CITY (198 and 5-63 declared) defeated RUGBY UNION (127 and 134) on first innings, tied outright
You'll be lucky to find a more bizarre result in Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket, with Bathurst City falling short of an incredible outright victory of Rugby Union.
Redbacks had won the first innings - just Rugby Union's second defeat of the season and bringing a run to its 10-match unbeaten streak - but with a finals spot at stake if an unlikely outright victory was achieved, Redbacks declared at 5-63 after their second stint with the bat.
What happened next was simple crazy.

With Rugby Union needing one run to win, Jonah Ruzgas was dismissed, giving the Bulldogs a total of 134 for its second innings and 261 across the two innings, the same total of Redbacks.
The result meant Redbacks had won on first innings and tied outright, meaning if Bathurst City had dismissed Rugby one run earlier, they would have played finals, but it was not meant to be.
CITY COLTS (134 and 3-50) outrighted KINROSS (125 and 57)
Heading into day two, it looked as if Kinross were on the verge of its first win of the Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket season, but what entailed on Saturday was nothing short of a miraculous City Colts turn around.
Colts stunned the students, claiming outright points after trailing by 80 runs with three wickets in hand heading into day two.
The wickets of David Giorgio and Pat Hill fell on day two, leaving Colts with just one wicket to spare. But Dean Henderson came in at number 11 and scored the second highest total of his team's innings with 26, while Josh Toole showed what he's still capable of as he hit 44 with the bat to pass Kinross' total with one wicket to spare.
After Colts were dismissed for 134, the students were sent back in to bat again and a devastating five-for from Thomas Murray played a big part in Kinross being dismissed for just 57 runs in 17.2 overs.
Colts would go on to outright Kinross in just 12 overs, with some seven wickets to spare.
