The coach cited 'fitness and defence' as the main downfalls throughout the opening fortnight and will hope his men can correct those areas in their round three contest at Forbes.
The Magpies returned to the winner's circle last weekend, disposing of Woodbridge 30-12 at Canowindra.
And even though the black and whites will probably enter the clash as favourites, Jones is hopeful that a bolstered line-up can give the home side some trouble.

"We've got to win our last three to have a shot and after this, we get to finish with two home games.
"If we can win this week, it will make it easier."
Speaking of the firepower, Jones confirmed the addition of Josh Board, Joey Hobby and Dion Jones, three players who could blow Saturday's game wide open.
Not only will CYMS play at Forbes, so will Woodbridge as it will do battle with Dubbo CYMS in the first of a double header. Kick-off times are 4.45pm and 6.15pm respectively.
