The grave of Beck Wills' grandmother was recently targeted by thieves who stole decorations and cards that adorned the tombstone.
She asked that the council install just one camera at the front entrance of the cemetery in Lone Pine Avenue, in an effort to deter future thieves.
"We're not asking for cameras everywhere, just one at the main gate," she said.
"People should be able to rest in peace. My grandmother is in an older area of the cemetery, but it shouldn't matter where you are.

"We're not asking to have them all throughout the cemetery. We don't want to intrude on people's privacy while they're spending time with their loved ones, we just want one on the entry to deter people from doing things like this."
Now Orange City Council have issued a statement on the matter.
"It's always disappointing when items left behind on a grave by family members are disturbed.," Orange City Council communications officer, Allan Reeder said.
"For these reasons, council doesn't encourage the decoration of graves. Items can be damaged by weather, passing wildlife or re-arranged by another well-meaning family member or child.
"From time to time, council considers whether to install CCTV cameras at the cemetery. Times of grief are complex and difficult for families, and ensuring privacy and space to grieve as they wish is a key part of that.
"We're currently looking at installing cameras at the entrance."
