Having invested thousands of dollars into said oversize insect-cum-car, Lynn and Jacky Teh from the New Golden Bowl Chinese Restaurant are eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Mrs Teh described the Transformers as "pretty cool", and said they purchased Bumblebee to represent the transformation of the New Golden Bowl from a smorgasbord arrangement to an à la carte restaurant.
The Tehs have owned the restaurant for nearly two years.
The smorgasbord ceased before the coronavirus pandemic, and since then the Tehs have worked to re-brand the Golden Bowl.
"We wanted to change the restaurant from smorgasbord to proper restaurant, but because it's an old building it's hard to do that," said Mrs Teh.
"We've changed the decorations, and the Transformer is very special."
Bumblebee will reside at the front of the restaurant.
Mrs Teh said the past 12 months had been very difficult, but she was confident of a rebound after the vaccination program was rolled out.
