A man was expected to face court in Orange on Thursday following an extensive police investigation into alleged online child exploitation offences.

Earlier this month detectives from Central West Police District and the State Crime Command's Child Sex Abuse Squad commenced an investigation after receiving information about a man who had uploaded explicit images to a social media platform.
Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a middle-aged man at Manildra at about 10.20pm on Wednesday evening.
A search warrant was subsequently executed at the home and detectives seized electronic storage devices and computers, which will undergo further examination.

The man was taken to Orange Police Station and charged with use carriage service for child abuse material, he was refused bail and was expected to appear in Orange Local Court on Thursday.
The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
