As part of an initiative to ease the impact of Covid, Orange City Council decided to make the car park temporarily free. Council communications officer Allan Reeder said the return of paid parking at the car park is now under review.
"Council has been talking with the Orange Business Chamber about some new directions on parking. If we want staff to park in some of the all-day car parks, we'll need to look at some better lighting for when it's getting dark by 5pm," he said.
"They're also keen for the council to look at moving from one hour limits to two hour limits in some of the side streets. Until the review is completed, it will continue to be free to park at the Ophir Car Park.
