The memorial is named in honour of late greyhound trainer Julie Healey, whose most notable dog Rockstar Image won 21 races from 47 starts, including three at Wentworth Park.

Julie's husband Alan Healey was on hand to award the trophy to Ginn, who was thrilled with the win, one secured via a start-to-finish blitz from $2 favourite Showdown.

"I've been good friends of Alan and his son for a long time," she said.

"It's our local track and it's one of the memorial races that are held every year and I try and get here for it, so it's something I've always wanted to win.

"Now that I've won it and the money means nothing, it's just to say we've won it and we're really grateful for the owners Peter and Sonia Davis, who had both the two (Showdown) and the eight (Samaai). They've given us some good dogs over the years.

"I'm just glad the dogs can show everyone what they can do, especially when they're young puppies."

Ginn's Showdown finish ahead of second-placed Robert Littlefield's Sweet Marie ($34), while massive outsider Nick's Tank ($71), trained by Ashley Marshall, took the third and final placing.

Ginn believes Showdown hasn't even shown fans what he's capable of yet.

"He won last week and he came through this week even quicker," she said.

"I don't think people have seen the best of him yet, being only 18-months-old."
