After winning the toss, Riverina sent Western out to bat where Weymouth, along with Thomas Coady and Cooper Brien, combined for over 180 of the 221 runs they put up in the opening innings.
The run chase felt over before it started as Riverina was 5/54 thanks to some cracking bowling from Harry McGregor 2/26 and Mac Webster 4/17.
The result brings Western's record to 1-1 with a Thursday tilt against Greater Illawarra to determine how high in the pool they finish.
At the time of print, Western had worked its way to a total of 208 runs in the first innings as Tom Coady was the star of the show, making 72 runs with eight boundaries to-boot.
Unfortunately for the Western men, Newcastle capped off a 3-0 trip to Albury on Thursday with another dominant win, meaning it all-but seals top spot on the group pool.
Regardless of the outcome at Albury, Schofield, Weymouth and McGregor will have Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket action to look forward to when they return as the defending premiers will kick-off the second half of the season with a local derby clash against the struggling Centrals.
The Warriors will look to build on an excellent end to 2020 as they claimed outright first position with some clutch victories.
As for Centrals, they would almost consider the meeting a must-win clash.
