Police have been told a group of unknown males - armed with a weapon - knocked on the door of a home in Cox Avenue about 12.30am on Tuesday and forced entry after a woman opened the door.
The group demanded money and keys to a silver/grey Holden Commodore car parked out the front of the home, before fleeing the area in the car. During the incident the car sustained damage to the front windscreen.
The woman sustained a minor injury during the altercation.
Between 11pm on Monday and 6am Tuesday, a group of males forced entry into a home on Seymour Street while the occupants were asleep.
The group allegedly ransacked the home, before attempting to flee the location in a car parked in the driveway.
The vehicle was reversed down the driveway before it crashed into a retaining wall, and the group fled the scene on foot.
The occupants were uninjured.
Officers attached to Central West Police District have started an investigation into both incidents, and are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam vision from the area to contact Orange Police Station on 6363 6399 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
The men were last seen wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered with masks.
Police will allege the group may have travelled in the vehicle through Cowra and Boorowa, heading towards Canberra.
Inquiries continue.
