The usual fireworks party at Waratah Sportsground has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Instead Orange City Council is working with local businesses to run a NYE party with a difference featuring live music, food stalls and more.
Council provided $30,000 for the event and joins Kennards Hire and Newcrest Mining as a major sponsor.
Kennards Hire Regional Manager Craig McMahon said the highlight of the New Year's Eve celebration would be three 15-minute laser shows.
People are encouraged to bring along any lawn games, picnic rugs and camp chairs for a fun night.
Light Up Orange is on from 6.30pm-9.45pm, tickets cost $5. It is an alcohol-free event and pets are not allowed.
