It follows three crashes in five years at the intersection with Cecil Road.
The finished raised intersection will be similar to recent upgrade work at the corner of Anson Street and Matthews Avenue.
Drivers are prompted to slow down and that makes all the difference

The $230,000 project will involve the removal of existing speed humps on Gardiner Road.
Work is planned to begin in early January and it is expected to take about six weeks.
The work will start on the south side of the intersection with traffic in Gardiner Road limited to one lane at a time, managed by temporary traffic lights.
Cecil Road will be closed on both sides of Gardiner Road throughout the work.
Drivers have been encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
Mayor Reg Kidd said Gardiner Road was busy at times and the changes would improve the intersection.
"We've now installed a number of these raised platforms at a number of intersection in Orange, and the results are good. Drivers are prompted to slow down and that makes all the difference," he said.
Federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee said the community supported efforts to make local roads safer.
"Most users of Gardiner Road are local residents and this funding will help keep them, and also visitors to Orange, safe," he said.
Member for Orange Phil Donato said it would also benefit the local community.
"Southern Orange is becoming increasingly busy as developments continue. Where traffic risks are identified it is imperative that the necessary safety upgrades are made," he said.
NSW MLC Sam Farraway said money spent on road safety was "well-spent."
