Rain was coming in sideways as Orange was hit with a huge storm on Wednesday afternoon.
The rain came down so hard in some parts that it forced businesses to shut up shop.
"It was coming through the lights and the roof," Sasi Sikares, manager of the Subway near the North Orange Shopping Centre said.
"We have had to close for today and we aren't sure how it will go tomorrow, because we're waiting for everything so we can turn it back on.
"The water is still going through the roof an hour later as well, it could be highly dangerous."
This was the same story next door at the North Orange News & Gifts.
The shop's owner, Peter Minogue, said this was the worst he'd ever seen.
"It rained down through the lights," he said.
"We'll need a blower to dry out the floors and there's still water everywhere."
Asked whether he'll be open on Thursday, he said that was still up in the air.
"I think we'll give it a night and turn the power on," he said.
"We'll have to, you can't make money when you're shut."
