The pool was closed on Sunday after a "severe contamination" affected the pool and toilets area.
An Orange City Council spokesman confirmed the pool had re-opened.
A statement on the Aquatic Centre's Facebook site said the heat had affected the cleaning process.
"To meet water quality standards after an incident, we increase the amount of chlorine in the pool and then keep it there for a set period," it said.
"But, because of the hot weather it's taken longer than expected to keep the chlorine at to the right level."
On Monday Orange mayor Cr Reg Kidd warned parents and carers to keep children away from the pool if they showed any signs of gastroenteritis.
He said the contamination had been caused by 'gastro mishaps.'
Health authorities warned about a week ago there was an outbreak of gastroenteritis affecting children in Orange and in the Central West.
